About the Market
Fall Line Farms and Local Roots (FLF&LR) is a non-profit online farmers market connecting family owned and operated farms and small businesses in Central Virginia with customers in search of locally grown food. Since 2008, the market has provided access to locally grown food to the greater Richmond community. FLF&LR’s standards of Freshness, Traceability and Transparency raise the bar for the fresh, local, sustainable market.
How It Works
The market works on a weekly cycle. Members shop online any time between Friday at noon to Monday at midnight. They pay for their orders online and then pick them up on the following Thursday afternoon at one of 23 pickup locations. Orders are delivered fresh, straight from the farms. There is no warehouse, no delivery trucks.
The market's producers share in the delivery process and volunteers sort the orders at the pickup locations. This cooperative system keeps delivery costs down to a minimum meaning more money goes back to the producers.
Hourly position $12 an hour (up to 20 hrs a week)
We’re an equal opportunity employer. To apply, email your resume and cover letter explaining how your skills and experience meet the needs of this role. Use the subject line: Operations Assistant. The position will remain open until filled. No phone calls, please. Thank you for your interest!
